Welcome to the celebration of the International Music Day - on this occasion we have invited world-class star - pianist Yulianna Avdeeva, who will launch her world tour by the performance on the stage of the Artus Court in Toruń
Born in Moscow in 1985, at the age of 5 she began studying piano at the renowned Gniesin's School of Music in her hometown. Her artistic output is really impressive:
- she began to gain first awards at the age of 12
(competition in Prague – I prize winner)
- At the age of 17 she easily won Fifth International Competition for Young Pianists Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam in Bydgoszcz. (Second prize went to her peer - Rafał Blechacz)
The pianist is also the second prize winner (no first prize awarded)of one of the most prestigious music competitions - in Geneva.
The year 2010 brought Avdeeva a victory at the XVI International Piano Competition of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw.
Last year, on Fryderyk Chopin’s National Institute request, she recorded two Chopin concertos on Erard piano, built in 1849 (the year of compositor’s death).
Avdeeva, with an excellent piano workshop, has a very extensive repertoire. In the upcoming season her main concert will be Piano Concerto in D minor by Johannes Brahms. After performing in Torun the pianist will present that concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
