PAWEŁ KAPUŁA -Starting from the 2016/17 artistic season Paweł Kapuła serves as the Assistant Conductor of the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra. As the assistant conductor to its music and artistic director, Jacek Kaspszyk, he regularly conducts concerts with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, records, prepares the orchestra for all the concerts and recording sessions, participates in educational projects.

In December 2016 he made his début with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra stepping in for maestro Stanislaw Skrowaczewski. The concert received much critical acclaim by both the critiques and public. In March 2017 he debuted with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. In June 2017 he worked very closely with Yundi Li for his recording project with Chopin’s Pianos Concertos. He has worked with some of the world-class soloists such as Sergey Khachatryan, Bomsori Kim, Yundi Li, Urszula Kryger, Maciej Grzybowski.

In 2016 he was assistant conductor to maestro Andrey Boreyko at the National Orchestra of Belgium (Orchestre National de Belgique) where he had an opportunity to directly witness the art of conducting of such masters of the baton as Lawrence Foster, Vladimir Jurowski, Christopher Warren-Green and Michael Schønwandt. Before that, in December 2014 he conducted a successful opera debut at the Warsaw Chamber Opera House presenting Zamek na Czorsztynie by Karol Kurpiński. Paweł Kapuła has already performed with such orchestras as the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Forum of Music Orchestra in Wrocław, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Zielona Góra Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Kraków.

Born in 1992 in Rybnik, Poland. He received his first piano lessons at the age of seven. He studied the Orchestral Conducting at the Academy of Music in Krakow in the class of professor Tadeusz Strugała and professor Stanisław Krawczyński. He has participated in conducting masterclasses led by Prof. Collin Metters, Gabriel Chmura, Alexander Liebreich and Prof. Rafał Jacek Delekta. Paweł Kapuła is also the finalist and was awarded the First Distinction at the 1st All-Poland Student Conducting Competition held at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw. He also graduated from musicology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow
