One of our fundamental intentions in organising the Festival it to offer a rich and variegated programme, so that all Festival participants may find in it something suitable to their tastes and perhaps discover some new spheres of music which they have not been particularly familiar with.

For this reason in this year’s edition we have prepared a concert which will present a selection of the hits of Polish rock music of the 1980s played in new arrangements including both string and brass instruments. Mikołaj Blajda, the originator and artistic director of this project, promises that the programme will be far removed from the so-called mainstream music: ‘the 1980s was a time when rock, punk and heavy metal musical cultures were in their heyday, so it is particularly worth returning to the hits of that decade. For some, this is going to be a sentimental return to their young age, for others, an occasion to savour the ambitious Polish music of the 1980s’.

In addition to the rich musical arrangements, the artists have prepared a stage set and visualisations reminiscent of the atmosphere of those years. This sentimental musical journey will take us to the times of the Polish People’s Republic by offering a selection of popular music hits by such musical bands as Obywatel G.C., Lombard, Turbo, Sztywny Pal Azji, Chłopcy z Placu Broni, Perfect, and Kobranocka.
