The Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum in Toruń

The Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum is a unique open-air museum that transports visitors into the rural world of the 18th and 19th centuries. Within the museum park, you can explore original buildings such as cottages, barns, a windmill, a fire station, and other structures from regions including Kashubia, Bory Tucholskie, Kociewie, Kujawy, Chełmno Land, and Dobrzyń Land. The museum also hosts both permanent and temporary exhibitions, offering insights into traditional Polish culture and heritage. At the centre of the museum courtyard stands a 700-seat amphitheatre, opened in 1989—thirty years after the museum’s founding. It serves as a venue for concerts, dance performances, and other cultural events.
